Wheat Circles at Viscount, Saskatchewan
(77 kilometres east of Saskatoon)

November 1, 1999--Viscount resident Harold Fisher discovered two crop circles in a wheat field south of this rural town. Fisher, who has lived 86 years in the area, says he's never seen anything like them, "I can't imagine how they were formed," he reported to the Saskatoon StarPhoenix.

I visited the site on November 6, 1999. The smaller circle(reported in the SP as 6 metres, however, I stepped it off at 11 metres) is in the foreground, and the larger (reported in the SP as 9 metres, however, I stepped it off at 23 metres) is in the background.

The wheat within each circle is laid down counter-clockwise
and in coencentric circles.

Quite interestingly, although these circles are found in stubble fields (fields already harvested) they contain full heads of wheat laid neatly in one direction.

The two circles are approx. 27 metres apart. And there are five lines connecting the two circles, three are between them and two run along the outer edges. (see diagram below) There are no heads of wheat laying along these lines, yet they do not follow the pattern of farm machinery in the area.
